SUSTech School of Design
Established in April 2020, the School of Design at the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) is educating students to be the next generation of technically literate, ethically responsible and socially engaged leaders in innovation, and the faculty members are conducting cutting-edge research and knowledge transfer for the development of the sustainable innovation ecosystem in the region. Currently, the School of Design has built up a cross-disciplinary and international faculty from several countries, including China, Germany, Denmark, Switzerland, Italy and South Korea, and from diverse academic backgrounds, such as industrial design, interaction design, architectural design, mathematics, structure and material. sound, film-making, and sociology.
AIRS
Established in Shenzhen, one of the most dynamic and rapidly developing cities in the world, Shenzhen Institute of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics for Society (AIRS) is an institute for fundamental and applied researches in artificial intelligence and robotics (AIR). The main contributor of AIRS is The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen, with collaboration with worldwide top institutions in AIR. AIRS is committed to creating a new research institution model that integrates top university resources, international collaborations, industrial demands, and incubation motivations, etc. As an active and constructive member in the global research community, AIRS has built up a highly qualified team, including Chinese and foreign academicians, prestigious scholars and industry experts, working in areas of special robots, intelligent robots, micro-nanorobots, swarm intelligence, machine learning and the application of AI in industry, healthcare, etc. The objectives of AIRS are to establish an internationally open institute, so that prestigious scholars worldwide can enjoy conducting researches in AIRS, gather and cultivate talents for future leaders, promote the industrialization of AI and robotics and make them available for the society like air to human beings, and ultimately, create a kernel city of AI and robotics for the world.
SciArt Co-lab
SciArt Co-lab is jointly founded by Shenzhen Institute of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics for Society (AIRS) and Shenzhen University Benyuan Design and Research Center. It is supported by academic and scientific research, and pioneers a new model of ‘Relay between Science and Art’. With a global perspective, it explores the intersection and frontiers of science and art. SciArt Co-lab is dedicated to building a platform for art and science, integrating multidisciplinary fields such as art&tech, public art, digital creativity, science and technology, AI and robotics, architecture and urban planning, engineering, social humanities disciplines, etc. The lab aims to reshape the dialogue and cooperation mechanisms between science and art, explore the transformative future of SciArt, and challenge people’s perceptions and cognitive framework of the world.
