We are thrilled to announce the keynote speakers:

• Jun Rekimoto (Sony, uTokyo)
• Sang-won Leigh (Cornell)
• Marcelo Coelho (MIT)

The program will be similar to Scalable HCI 2025, here is a first attempt:

• ♨️ Jan 4 (Sun) - Informal welcome night at Chaihuo with initial hackathon brainstorming.
• 💬 Jan 5 (Mon) - SUSTech day - opening keynote, demos, exhibitions, posters, etc.
• 🏭 Jan 6 (Tue) - Factory day - Manufacturing field study (PCB fab, assembly, injection molding, etc).
• 🎨 Jan 7 (Wed) - UABB day - Art x Tech day with keynote and performances in the evening.
• 🤖 Jan 8 (Thu) - AIRS day - Robotics labs visit with MIT residents' talks and closing keynote.
• 📱 Jan 9 (Fri) - HuaQiangBei day - exploration of the factory market district with guides.
• ⚙️ Jan 10-11 (Sat-Sun) - Hands-on workshop and hackathon for 2 days at Chaihuo.

This symposium is a part of a 1-month open research residency (see 2025 occurence). This program was heavily inspired, and aims to continue the legacy of:

• The Hacker Trip To China by Noisebridge, the San Francisco Hackerspace.
• The Research At Scale program by the MIT Media Lab.
